We have a special interest and leading experience in Flemish and Dutch old master paintings of the 16th to early 18th centuries, in early English panel painting, in British Tudor and Jacobean paintings, eighteenth-century canvas paintings and in modern and contemporary paintings.
We have a leading experience in the structural treatment of paintings on both canvas and panel, but in particular in the repair, lining and re-lining of large canvas paintings.
We have a growing reputation and notably successful track record in the research and technical study of paintings and polychrome sculptures – providing technical data and provenance information which assists international specialists in the authentication of lost masterworks (or ‘Sleepers’).
We have considerable experience with church hatchments and royal arms, with polychrome sculpture (including painted medieval Rood Screens), with wall and ceiling paintings, and with painted decorative interiors.
We have worked on a wide range of media including oil, acrylic, and mixed media techniques on canvas, panel and plaster, as well as a variety of other substrates and support mechanisms.
